Releases

Hey Keph,

What about announcing and tagging releases and providing tarballs ? I see the version was bumped to 0.4 then 1.0-rc1, but none of the above happened. I'd help testers and packagers.

Thanks,
Xavier

Re: Releases

Are you packaging SVN version?

Actually, the code is ready for 1.0 Release Candidate, but not the graphics and the sounds.

It may happen soon, but it is not depending on me now wink.

Re: Releases

No, I'm not packaging SVN trunk, the Fedora package is currently the 0.3 version, but I've seen the version bumps in trunk, so I thought I'd give it a try, but as the releases are not even tagged, it's a bit inconvenient. Actually, as both 0.4 and 1.0rc1 require ClanLib 2, I won't be able to update before ClanLib is updated in Fedora, but anyway, I think at least tagging the release would be nice.
The sound and graphics not being ready is fine, this is not regression, but there are already something to test before 1.0 final.

Re: Releases

0.4 and 1.0 RC1 will be the same version, I'll add a tag when graphics will be okay.

You can test the current svn version, it shouldn't evolve much by now. I can give you a tarball if you want smile

Re: Releases

I see version 0.4 has been tagged. Will there be a tarball release or shall I make my own from the tag and push that to Fedora repos ?

Re: Releases

The problem is, code is tagged as 0.4, but GFX isn't. Guigoz doesn't have a lot of time to complete them. He will work on it for the final release.

So, I don't plan to release a tarball. You may make your own, but you will have a very uncomplete version (bad sounds, bad graphics).

But thanks you for being interested in the project smile

Edit: I have to add that finally, 0.4 will not be the 1.0, because I want to add some features (online highscores...)

Re: Releases

As long as nothing is added to the tag, I'm fine with rolling my own tarball. And actually, even if the graphics and sounds are bad, this is already an improvement from the sound and music-less 0.3. I'm probably going to push 0.4 to Fedora soonish.
btw, you might want to fix the version in configure.ac, it says 1.0-rc.

Also, I had a bug report for the 0.3 version, no idea if it still present in 0.4, but you might want to take a look. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=594891

Re: Releases

I have fixed the configure.ac smile

For your bug report, I don't know what it happens. Seems to be in a ClanLib function, but now we have switched to Clan 2.1.
