texture error on starting the game

Hi,
When starting the game I got the following message:

Skin /usr/share/openalchemist/aqua.zip was not found or is not a zip file, we use /usr/local/share/openalchemist/aqua.zip instead.
Can't read hightscores file. Probably doesn't exist.
Error while reading /home/gl207/.openalchemist/skins-0.3 file, probably doesn't exist yet.
Skin error : Couldn't pack all frames into textures
Error in : /usr/local/share/openalchemist/aqua.zip
Couldn't pack all frames into textures

and it exits.

Same problem wether I compile from sources or using the latest fedora 11 RPM. It worked on Fedora 9. (never worked on Fedora 10 because of an ATI driver problem).

Any solution welcome, I love that game!
Thanks,
M

Re: texture error on starting the game

Does it works with --sdl option or --opengl ?

Re: texture error on starting the game

Yep. Work with both, thanks. Any advice on which one to use preferentially?
Thanks!

Re: texture error on starting the game

OpenGL is better: you have progressive alpha blending on menus, and, if your system has a good hardware support, it's faster.

So, you tell me you have the problem reported above with the two configurations?

Can you tell me if you have the file "aqua.zip" in your "/usr/share/openalchemist" folder ? It could be an installation problem, with autotools. I hardly managed to have skins file in this folder and it worked during my tests, but the problem may occurs from there.
